Fractional engineering leadership — without the multi-year hire.
I'm Marc-Olivier Seers. For two decades I've helped banks, government, and enterprise teams in Montréal build the pipelines, platforms, and practices that let them deliver — safely, repeatedly, and at scale.
Four ways I help teams ship.
Engagements scale from a focused incubator to ongoing fractional leadership — the objective is always the same: deliver value.
DevSecOps & CI/CD
End-to-end pipelines — Azure DevOps, Docker, HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk, Checkmarx — for standardized, secure delivery across 50+ applications.
Platform modernization
Container-platform incubators (Tanzu, CloudFoundry) that go from 20 apps to 200+ — with the automation that keeps adoption climbing after I leave.
AI adoption & agentic workflows
Pragmatic GitHub Copilot rollouts, approved MCP servers, and AI agents that read your logs and surface root causes — measurable adoption, not demos.
Engineering leadership & mentorship
Communities of practice, squad mentoring, and continuous-deployment coaching that cut incidents and onboarding time — and grow seniors from within.
Outcomes, not activity.
A few engagements where the numbers tell the story. All delivered at the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC).
Built an AI agent system that reads client-portal logs and identifies root causes — before users feel them.
A Tanzu migration incubator moved 20 apps in 6 months — then the automation built during it drove the rest.
Trained 50+ developers on GitHub Copilot and embedded it in the workflow — not the slideware.
Mentored 5 squads into continuous deployment with small-batch delivery — calmer releases, fewer rollbacks.
Two decades, mostly in the room.
Launched two communities of practice (25+ members), led the Tanzu migration incubator, and drove enterprise AI adoption — Copilot, MCP servers, log-reading agents.
Designed an end-to-end DevSecOps pipeline for 50+ apps, led the SharePoint 2010→2013 migration (300+ site collections), and built a 10-specialist DevOps team.
Deployed and administered SharePoint and CRM in enterprise environments; delivered custom solutions and Level 2/3 support.
End-to-end Microsoft advisory across client mandates — SharePoint, Active Directory, virtualization, and IIS foundations.
Civilian contractor to the Canadian Armed Forces — managed network infrastructure and military data systems. Held Government of Canada Secret clearance.
Pragmatic, regardless of scale.
I bring teams together around shared goals — from CI/CD architecture to AI adoption — and turn complex challenges into concrete, sustainable solutions. The right amount of process, the right tools, and the discipline to ship.
- 01Deliver value, not ceremony.
- 02Automate so adoption outlives the engagement.
- 03Fix the system while you grow the team.
Let's talk about what you need to ship.
Open to fractional leadership, advisory, and project engagements in and around Montréal for 2026.
